The area’s premier boutique fitness studio started as an outlet for professional dancer and founder, Laura Zavadil.  As her dancing days came to an end and she landed back home to Northeast Ohio, she was seeking out workouts that incorporated fun music, maintained her dancer like lean muscles and was low impact on her tired dancer joints.  Nothing was fitting the bill at the traditional gyms in town, so she founded Mega Barre and single handedly led the barre fitness movement in the Youngstown area, the first to ever offer this type of workout in 2013.  Barre fuses elements of dance and pilates in ways that traditional workouts cannot match.  Having solely offered barre for many years, Laura then introduced classes like bounce, box step and strength, all of which are proprietary to Mega Barre.  Laura also developed an interest in nutrition and how it correlates to disease prevention and enhances fitness results.  As she lost her mother at a young age to cancer, she witnessed first hand how nutrition affects health outcomes and made it part of her life’s goal to help support clients to find the same appreciation.  The combination of fitness and nutrition is really the key to aging gracefully and living a life of health and longevity, and that is what Mega Barre is built upon.

Mega Barre’s co owner, Erica Fleming, started as an instructor for many years and also brings a deep love of fitness, marathon running, and nutrition with her robust background and education.  In 2019, Erica brought the addition of Lagree Fitness (™) on the Megaformer to Mega Barre, yet again, leading our area with revolutionary focused fitness methods that are cutting edge and unique, yet accessible to all.  This celebrity loved, high impact, low impact method is loved worldwide, and Erica has a way of educating on the method that is not only so fun, but so effective in building metabolically active muscle mass.
